The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art
A couple of weeks ago, I took a weekend trip to Kansas City, MO to hang out with my good friend, Erica. While I we were there, we visited The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. This free art museum was amazing. We spent about 3 hours looking at all of the exhibits, and that doesn't even include the 22 acres of sculpture park they have outside!
Kansas City, MO
This past weekend, I met up with Erica in Kansas City, MO. She was in town for work and I decided to take the train from St. Louis so we could hang out. I had never been to Kansas City before, and neither had she. I definitely had a blast
On the Streets
Sometimes, if I am running a bit early to work...I will stop and take some photos on my commute. This is how I get a lot of my street photos. I'll be honest, I still get anxious when I walk around and take photos. I feel like people just stare at me, and that makes me a bit uncomfortable. I am working on getting over this, so I can take more/different street photos.
The Monochrome Series V.3
I'm back with another edition of The Monochrome Series (finally!). It has been a couple months since I've done any posts for this series - even though the black + white photos are some of my favorites.
Let's Catch Up
I have no idea why, but I've been a bit MIA lately...across almost all social media. I haven't taken many photos. I just...haven't been around. I have been a bit busy, but in reality, I haven't felt much like being online lately. I am a little sad that I haven't pushed myself to get out and take more photos. Taking photos is my favorite thing to do. If we are being honest here, my anxiety has been awfully bad lately and it's kept me from doing a whole lot of things that I normally enjoy. Today is a better day, though.
So, I started doing a photo a day project again...and I've already quit. I just have entirely too much going on to be able to do it. I always, always end up snapping something quick that I don't like and eventually I start hating the project. So, I'm just moving on and I won't be trying again. Anyway, here are some of my photo a day photos that I really liked.
It rained pretty much the entire weekend. It was off an on rain - but definitely gloomy + rainy all weekend. Regardless, I was still pretty busy. I felt like I had a ton of stuff to get done. Luckily, I got it all done and was able to have a little bit of relax time with Walter on Sunday.
In My Ona Bowery Bag
I have used probably every kind of fashionable camera bag out there. I’m not even exaggerating. I have tried Jo Totes, Kelly Moore, Epiphanie, Theit, Cheeky Lime…all of them. I was never completely satisfied with any of them. There was always something missing. Something that just didn’t make them work for me. My favorite out of all of them was the Theit Bossi - such a fashionable bag - but a bit too fashionable for me. Not quite my casual style. I’ve either returned or sold all of the bags I tried. There are so many options out there - but I just hadn’t found the one for me.
When I first got my camera – I bought a very expensive, dedicated macro lens. I hate it. In my opinion, it wasn’t worth the money at all. I ended up returning it. A few weeks ago, I found this lens attachment on Amazon. It was only $25, so I figure it was worth a shot. I got the lens about a week ago and I am in love with it! It was well worth the $25 – and I think it’s much better than the expensive lens I returned.
The Monochrome Series v.2
I’m back with the second installment of The Monochrome Series. I enjoy doing this series. It’s amazing how black and white can completely transform a photo. In my opinion, it adds a great deal of emotion to a photo – whether it’s a photo of a person or a place or even just an object – black and white can completely change the mood.
Weekend Nature Walks
On the weekends, Walter and I like to get out and go on nature walks – if the weather permits. I prefer cooler days. If it’s too hot – we can’t stay out long. Neither one of us does good in the heat. Fall is probably my favorite time to go on nature walks. We had really nice weather a couple of weeks ago – so we were able to get in some good outside time.
