I have been up since 4am with this guy. He woke up around that time and got sick twice. Then he wouldn’t sleep unless I was holding him (I’m not complaining, I love my Walty snuggles). We got out of bed around 6:30 because he was too restless. He wouldn’t eat breakfast (if you know Walter, you know it’s bad when he won’t eat).

His back legs seemed to be bothering him, too. He wouldn’t walk. Just laid there. So, I sat on the floor with him for at least an hour massaging his legs, trying to get him to eat, and just talking to him. He finally finished his breakfast around noon. Then he slept until about 4pm. I fed him dinner at 5 and he ate that right up!

He is still sick (just diarrhea right now), but I’m so thankful that he ate his dinner. He’s asleep right now. In my lap, because he won’t sleep unless he’s with me. It’s been a super long day, but I’m just thankful he’s doing better and loving that he’s curled up in my lap right now.

A dog will teach you unconditional love. If you can have that in your life, things won’t be too bad.
